Pininyahang Manok (Pineapple Chicken)

    After weeks and weeks of waiting, the pineapples are finally back! I was so happy when I saw piles of them in the market, and decided instantly to make pininyahang manok (pineapple chicken) for lunch. Fresh pineapples are way better (and cheaper!) than canned ones.



     Whenever I google pininyahang manok I always end up with recipes using milk, which is not the case of the one the grew up with. It had brown sauce, much like adobo, but with pineapples. I made it that way, but it still didn't taste like the one I know. The next time I'll add Sprite and perhaps come up with the recipe.
